First consultation (Free)
In this phase, we first meet with you to understand your needs, desires, and
goals. We have an exploratory discussion to outline the project scope and clarify
expectations.
Deliverables
Project Brief: A document summarizing the key project goals, requirements, vision and expectations.
Project Scope: A description of what we will design, including the project’s scope and boundaries.
Cost Estimate: An initial indication of the costs and timelines for the project.
01
Initiation phase
During the initiation phase, we officially initiate the project. This includes establishing a detailed project plan and organizing the necessary resources and team members.
Deliverables
Project Plan: A detailed plan outlining timelines, milestones, and responsibilities.
Kick-off Meeting: A report from the kick-off meeting where we confirm project goals, planning, and roles.
Contract and Agreements: Formal documents that outline the agreements and expectations between us and you.
02
Analyse phase
In the analysis phase, we gather and analyze data to shape our design approach and ensure it aligns with your goals. This process includes selecting and conducting the necessary research to collect sufficient information for developing a comprehensive list of requirements.
Deliverables
Analysis Report: A comprehensive document outlining our findings, including project requirements, constraints, and user needs.
Overview of Design Challenges: A summary of the key challenges and obstacles identified during the analysis phase that may impact the design process.
Detailed List of Requirements: A thorough list outlining the product’s specifications, needs, and constraints.
03
Ideation phase
In the idea generation phase, we brainstorm and explore various ideas and concepts to uncover potential solutions and design approaches. This creative process is followed by testing and combining these ideas to refine and enhance the overall design.
Deliverables
Ideas Report: A document with an overview of the different ideas and concepts we have generated.
Moodboards and Sketches: Visual representations of the ideas to give a sense of direction and aesthetics.
Feedback Session: A report from the session where we discuss and evaluate the ideas with you.
04
Concept phase
Here, we develop the selected ideas into detailed concepts. This includes creating initial designs and refining the chosen direction.
Deliverables
Concept Designs: Detailed designs and visualizations that form the basis for further development.
Concept Document: A document providing an in-depth explanation of the concepts, including design intentions, cost and specifications.
Feedback Session: A report from the feedback session where we discuss and review the concepts with you.
05
Concept optimalization phase
In this phase, we optimize and refine the chosen concepts based on your
feedback and additional analyses. This involves resolving technical issues and improving the
design.
Deliverables
Optimized Designs: Revised and enhanced designs that meet your feedback and technical requirements.
Optimization Report: A document detailing the adjustments and improvements made to the design.
Revised Feedback Session: A report from the session where we present the optimized designs and seek your approval.
06
Materialization phase
During the materialization phase, we turn the final designs into physical prototypes or prepare for production. This includes necessary documentation, material selection, and production planning.
Deliverables
Prototypes: Physical and digital models of the design for validation and testing.
Material Selection: Specifications of the materials used and any recommendations for alternatives.
Production Plan: A detailed plan for production, including timelines and cost estimates.
Necessary documents: This include 2D-drawings, 3D-files, and technical documentation.
07
Realization phase
In the realization phase, we complete and deliver the final design. This includes
production, installation, and any final testing to ensure the end product meets the
specifications.
Deliverables
Final product: The completed design as agreed, including all production and installation work.
Installation and usage manuals : Documentation for installing and using the product.
Final report: A report summarizing the project, including any lessons learned and recommendations for the future.

FAQ
1. What is the product design process?
A design process is a structured series of steps that guide the development of a product from a vision to final design, ensuring it meets user needs and project goals. Our design process consists of seven phases: Initiation Phase, Analysis Phase, Ideation Phase, Concept Phase, Concept Optimization Phase, Materialization Phase, and Realization Phase. For a detailed overview of our process, please check our Design Process.
2. How much does product design cost?
The cost of product design varies depending on the complexity and scope of the project. We provide an initial cost estimate after the first consultation and then work on a detailed quotation. For a price quote, please contact us for a non-binding estimate.
3. How long does it take to complete a product?
The timeline for a product design depends on the size and complexity of the project. Generally, a small project takes between 8 and 16 weeks, including all phases from concept development to realization. We will create a detailed schedule during the Initiation Phase.
4. How do you involve me in the design process?
We believe in close collaboration with our clients to achieve great results. You will be involved in every phase of the process, from the initial brainstorming sessions to feedback on concepts and prototypes. Regular updates and feedback opportunities ensure that your input is incorporated into the final design. Of course, participation is optional, as we understand that our clients have busy schedules.
5. What if I am not satisfied with the design?
Your satisfaction is our priority. We offer multiple feedback opportunities and revisions throughout the design process to ensure the design meets your expectations. If adjustments are needed after delivery, we are happy to discuss options for further optimization.
6. What types of products do you design?
We design a wide range of products, from consumer electronics to furniture and industrial products. Whether it’s a new technological device, an innovative furniture design, or a functional industrial product, we have the expertise to bring your ideas to life. Alles kan.
7. Can you also help with the production of the product?
Yes, we can guide you through the materialization phase and assist with defining specifications, preparing documentation and files, and finding the perfect production partners. Although we do not handle production ourselves, we have a network of reliable manufacturers and suppliers with whom we work to bring your product to market.
8. What is your experience with 3D printing?
We have extensive experience with 3D printing and use this technology to create prototypes and test designs. 3D printing allows us to quickly and cost-effectively create and evaluate models, enabling us to make any necessary adjustments early in the process.
9. Do you also offer web design as part of your services?
Yes, in addition to product design, we also offer web design services. We can help you develop a professional website that effectively presents your brand and product designs. This includes designing and developing user-friendly and visually appealing websites.
10. How can I start a project with you?
You can start by contacting us for a free initial consultation. During this consultation, we will discuss your ideas, goals, vision and expectations. We will then create a project plan and begin the design process. You can reach us via our contact form.
